Colin Trevorrow Exits “Star Wars: Episode IX”

Once again, Lucasfilm will need to look for a new director for one of their forthcoming films. On Tuesday, announced that Colin Tervorrow, Jurassic World, will exit as director for Star Wars: Episode IX. The statement says:

“Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.”

This isn’t the first time Lucasfilm has decided to get a new director for one of their films. On June 20, Lucasfilm announced Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will not be directiong the Han Solo spinoff film due to “different creative visions.” Rian Johnson is the director for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and is rumored to be the director for Episode IX. Though it’s unclear if Johnson will return to do another Star Wars film, he has mentioned that he would be interested in doing another one. Let’s just hope the trend for Lucasfilm dropping directors ends soon, because fans don’t want to be worried about the future Obi Wan spinoff film.
