Internet star Stevie Ryan was found dead at her place of residence on Saturday, July 1. Her death was ruled a suicide by hanging, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
The actress became a YouTube sensation in 2006 with her video series, Little Loca, which was about a Mexican-American girl who posted music videos about her life.
From March 2012 to July 2013, she starred in her own comedy sketch series, Stevie TV on VH1, where she impersonated celebrities like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
In 2015 the actress co-hosted Brody Jenner’s E! talk show, Sex with Brody, which discussed sex and relationships.
Recently, Ryan co-hosted the podcast Mentally Ch(ill), where she openly discussed her battle with depression.
Days before Ryan’s death she discussed the recent passing of her grandfather and the toll it was taking on her life. “I’m just worried that this is going to send me into a deeper depression,” she told listeners.
The day before her death, she expressed her grief on social media. She tweeted, “The man of my dreams will now only be in my dreams. I’ll miss you everyday, forever. I love you my Pa.”
News of Ryan’s death caused many fans and friends to express their emotions and praise her work.
